Application is Now Open: Master of Engineering in Sustainable and Renewable Energy (on Weekends)

The College of Engineering and Physics at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) is pleased to announce that application to The Mater of Engineering Program in Sustainable and Renewable Energy (SEN) at KFUPM for Fall 2022 is now open until May 15th, 2022. The Master of Engineering Program in Sustainable and Renewable Energy is specially designed to prepare professionals and leaders with the skills required to address the challenges of transforming the Kingdom’s energy sector into a highly efficient, reliable entity. The program graduates will acquire the skills necessary to lead the operation, control, design, regulation, and management of sustainable and renewable energy systems of the future. In addition, the program graduates will be equipped with advanced state-of-the-art knowledge and skills in the technology, processes, economics, and policy areas that affect the field of sustainable and renewable energy. The program will provide a great opportunity for its graduates to contribute and lead the energy industry in the Kingdom since the program objectives are strongly aligned with the Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Renewable Energy Program. The duration of the program is two years including the study of six core courses and three elective ones. The core courses are: • Electric Energy Systems • Sustainable and Renewable Energy Systems • Advanced Energy Conversion • Renewable Energy Integration • Solar Photovoltaic Systems • Energy Economics, Policies, and Regulations A wide range of elective courses will be available for selection including: • Electricity Markets • Nuclear Engineering • Solar Thermal Energy • Wind Energy Engineering • Smart Grids • Energy efficiency • Energy Storage • Sustainable Buildings and Cities • Energy Project Management & Leadership • Special Topics in Sustainable and Renewable Energy During the last year, each student will be involved in a project which provides an opportunity to apply knowledge gained during the previous semesters and practice a variety of skills such as researching for technical information, organization, planning, looking up sources, designing and testing, and delivering oral and written presentations.
